Transformers Expo and Toronto Anime Con 2004 |
A Kikiwai Co. Con Report By: Sakura
Hello, I'm here to bring you my late report on the March TAC con and some pics. =)
The more or less official name for this convention is Transformers Expo and
Toronto Anime Con, though the name was shortened to March TAC, to keep it nice and simple. For this
particular convention, it's the first of its kind, something to make the wait for the next CNAnime seem
less far away.
Although it was also called "Transformers Expo", I have to say that I didn't see much of anything to do
with Transformers, aside from the mention of a panel or two. Mind you, I spent the majority of my time
in the dealer's room and didn't actually go looking for Transformers-related events. ^_^* Speaking of the
dealer's room, the space given is a vast improvement compared to November TAC. There was lots of space
to move about and lost the somewhat claustrophobic feel from the last TAC.
The number of people at TAC is nowhere near as high a number as those that attend CNAnime, but out of
the people that came, quite a few came in cosplay. =D Yours truly was also guilty for cosplaying twice
over the two days. ^_^ Like at any convention, there was a wide range of different cosplays, from
animes like Naruto and GetBackers, to game cosplays like Final Fantasy, and even obscure manga ones
like +Anima and Read or Die.
I was only able to attend one of the panels, which was basically the Q&A with the English voice actors.
The panel ran longer than it should have (by two hours? ^_^*) but the VAs were good sports about the
whole thing. =)
Overall, the convention was great just to meet people, socialize, go to panels and meet VAs, buy
anime-related stuff, and most importantly, have fun! ^_~
Here are some pictures of various cosplayers at the convention. ^_^
Followed by pictures of our "store". =)
And last, but not least, pictures from the panel.
